My Favorite Podcasts

Below is a list of the Podcasts I’ve enjoyed. There are a number of others I listen to that are more hit and miss but the following are my mainstays.

    • United States civic lessons in less than a minute. 
  3. 99 Percent Invisible
    • Roman Mars and his group from “beautiful, uptown, Oakland California”. This podcast is all about design and always has something that I didn’t know I wanted to know…
  4. The Art of Manliness
    • Brett McKay of one of my favorite websites: https://www.artofmanliness.com/ Where else can I learn how to grow a beard, field strip a squirrel, and learn how to tie my bow-tie?
  5. EconTalk
    • Russ Roberts, a research fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and president of Shalem College in Jerusalem, and his guests break down Economics on just about everything.
  6. Hardcore History
    • Sporadically released but worth the wait. Very in-depth history.
  7. Jordan Harbinger
    • Master of soft skills, Jordan helps holds a mirror up to our personal brand of crazy and talks us back off the ledge.
  8. Jordan Peterson
    • Professor, therapist, best-selling author, and all-around Canadian, Dr. Peterson will make you think and challenge some of your preconceived and not-quite-conceived notions. 
  9. Star Talk
    • The myth. The man. The living legend. Astrophysicist and Hayden Planetarium director Neil deGrasse Tyson takes us to “where comedy, science, and culture collide”. 
  10. Stuff You Should Know
    • Josh and Chuck tell us all about the stuff we might have heard of and maybe even “should know”.
  11. Trends and Issues in Instructional Technology
    • Pretty dry at times but a great quick look at what is new and shiny in the world of instructional design.
  12. The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe
    • Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs fame takes over for Paul Harvey but with fewer ACE Hardware Ads.
  13. You Are Not So Smart
    • David McRaney reminds us we just aren’t that smart by walking us through psychology 101, 105, and beyond.
  14. The #BruteCast
    • A lecture and discussion series hosted by the Krulak Center at Marine Corps University so I can keep up with all the goings on.
  15. Church News
    • A podcast hosted by Deseret Book about what is going on in the Church.
  16. Follow Him
    • A podcast taking the listener through the scriptures. Hank and John are upbeat and make the scriptures more user friendly.
  17. Unshaken Saints
    • Another podcast taking the listener through the scriptures but much more in-depth. Most episodes are multiple hours.
